Beginning in 2007, Gov’t Mule has come up with a theme for each Halloween show the group has played. It started with Holy Haunted House in which the band covered Led Zeppelin’s Houses Of The Holy in its entirety and continued with tributes to Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones and The Who. This year, the Mule will honor the music of Jimi Hendrix at Chicago’s Rivera Theatre on October 31.
The Mule has covered plenty of Hendrix in the past ranging from Machine Gun to Spanish Castle Magic to Third Stone From The Sun to Foxy Lady to any number of the traditional blues tunes that made up a large portion of The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s live repertoire. A pre-sale takes place at Noon CT today through the band’s ticketing site.
