Tis the season for summer festival lineup rumors, like what we recently saw when several sites ran a bogus Bonnaroo announcement complete with a false addition of Paul Simon. Speculation about who will play Lollapalooza in Chicago this summer is raging on the interwebs. The Twitter account Lolla Leaks (@LollaLeaks), “An Anonymous Lollapalooza Insider, Bringing You Info About the 2012 Festival,” who correctly preemptively predicted last year’s lineup, has gotten the attention of festival head honcho Perry Farrell (@perryfarrell) particularly after the account “leaked” the purported headliners.
Lolla Leaks began by speculating about which non-headlining acts would be at the festival in Grant Park, August 3-5.
I will announce the first artist when I get 100 followers, the next at 200, so on and so forth…

Ultimately, Farrell stated that the Lollapalooza lineup, despite what Lolla Leaks reported, has not been finalized.

Whether or not Lolla Leaks is in fact a “fraud” remains to be seen. When the lineup officially drops we’ll know if Lolla Leaks is really a “Lollapalooza Insider” or just someone with a lot of extra time on their hands.
